30 Days to Stop Fracked Gas

Week of Action: 9/20 - 27

Team up with millions of youth and allies around the world fighting to create a livable future, demanding climate justice, and calling for an end to fossil fuels. Demand climate justice and an end to fossil fuels.

Volunteer Along the River this Fall

We need your help to restore healthy riparian habitat at the Nichols Natural Area. Enjoy snacks, good company, and a chance to win cool raffle prizes at work parties on September 25 and October 19.

Going to Court for Salmon

We’re taking the Trump administration to court to demand an action plan to deal with the hot water crisis. Fight alongside us by telling EPA to protect Columbia and Snake river salmon from dangerously warm water.

Head Coach: Brett VandenHeuvel

Check out a fascinating interview with Riverkeeper’s Executive Director (yes, we’re glad he didn’t pursue his dream of becoming a basketball star). Before joining Riverkeeper, Brett conducted research on climate change during field expeditions to Antarctica and New Zealand, taught kids at the Hancock Field Station in eastern Oregon, and started a legal practice representing nonprofits.

September Spotlight: Mike Harvey

Mike Harvey is one of Riverkeeper’s most enthusiastic volunteers. He donates his time and generously made Riverkeeper a beneficiary of his will: “I can’t think of a more effective organization doing the job of cleaning up the river and keeping salmon alive and healthy.”
