Together

The safety of our communities, members, and staff are Columbia Riverkeeper’s absolute highest priorities during this rapidly-changing and anxious time. Our staff is working from home and taking social distancing seriously. Our lawyers are challenging fracked gas, oil, and coal infrastructure, which continue to seek permits and government subsidies. Our community organizers are focusing on digital tools to protect clean water and our climate. Your continued support will protect the Columbia today and in the future.

Fossil Fuel Industry Not Giving Up

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fossil fuel industry is full steam ahead trying to build massive fossil fuel infrastructure on the Columbia River. You only have until April 1 to tell FERC to not rubberstamp the Kalama methanol pipeline.

Dam Study a Dead End for Salmon

The new study on Columbia and Snake River dams shows one thing: Trump’s agencies would rather save the obsolete Snake River dams than restore salmon and orcas. We need a new approach. Tell your representatives to support legislation to remove Snake River dams and reinvest in river communities.

Lawsuit Slashes Pollution

Our team of attorneys holds polluters accountable for toxic water pollution. Our latest victory: a Clean Water Act settlement that will reduce toxic copper pollution in the Wenatchee River, which is home to several stocks of threatened and endangered salmon and steelhead.

20 Years of Columbia Riverkeeper

Every month in 2020 we’re sharing an inspiring story of grit, passion, and success. This month: how Columbia Riverkeeper worked in solidarity with tribal nations to reduce cancer-causing toxic pollution that threatens Columbia River fish—and the people that rely on them.

March Member Spotlight:

Kingsly joined Columbia Riverkeeper’s legal team in January as a student extern from the University of Washington School of Law. His tireless research and excellent writing skills have been a tremendous asset as we take on the fossil fuel industry. Thank you Kingsly!

Calendar of events:
