Victory for Salmon!

The Ninth Circuit ruled that Trump’s EPA violated the Clean Water Act and must make a plan to protect salmon rising water temperatures. Warm water, caused by large, shallow reservoirs and intensifying climate change, threatens the Columbia and Snake rivers’ already imperiled salmon and steelhead.

Meet Mario Mijares

Mario joined Riverkeeper’s team of community organizers in late 2019 after working on the grassroots-canvass team. Mario will use his deep passion for equality, justice, and the environment to engage people in Portland and other Lower Columbia River communities.

In Memory: Robert “Jake” Jacob

Jake was a dreamer, he held a vision of a better world. Jake’s impact on the Columbia River did not end when he passed away last year. His estate donated $25,000 to Riverkeeper to continue the work of protecting the river.
