Legal Victory! Timber Giant Weyerhaeuser Agrees to Settlement People rely on the Columbia for clean water and strong salmon runs. No corporation, including Weyerhaeuser, has the right to flout the law and pollute this irreplaceable river. Our Clean Water Act settlement requires the corporation to fix pollution problems at its 260-acre Longview, WA, facility and pay a $600,000 penalty to a Pacific Northwest foundation for grants to protect the Columbia. |

Lower Columbia Farms, Habitat Protected Great news! The Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals ruled in favor of Columbia Riverkeeper and 1000 Friends of Oregon, overturning the Port of Columbia County’s effort to convert over 800 acres of farmland for heavy industrial development. This decision protects high-value farmland and prime salmon habitat targeted by the fossil fuel industry. |

1,000 Voices for Snake River Dam Removal Huge thank you to everyone who signed Columbia Riverkeeper’s letter asking Pacific Northwest leaders and President Biden to remove the four Lower Snake River dams to protect salmon and honor Tribal rights. Your voice is critical to building the political momentum we need. It’s not too late to add your name. |

Stand in Solidarity with Tribal Nations Rye Development wants to build the largest pumped-storage hydroelectric development in the Pacific Northwest. The Yakama Nation has vehemently opposed this development because of the proposal’s devastating impacts to irreplaceable Tribal cultural religious resources. We only have until May 20 to flood the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission with public comments. |
